Service Ending for aging SPECTRALIS devices – 12 years and older

(SPECTRALIS with serial numbers ≤5520)

Thank you for being a loyal Heidelberg Engineering customer.

Heidelberg Engineering strives to provide our customers with reliable diagnostic devices with long lifetimes and superior support. The modular, upgradable design of the SPECTRALIS allows us to introduce continuous improvements over an extended time. However, it has gradually become more difficult to source the spare parts for older SPECTRALIS devices and offer a cost-effective repair service.

We must, therefore, inform you that Heidelberg Engineering will end service for SPECTRALIS devices with serial numbers ≤5520 effective the 1st of October 2024. These aging devices (12 years and older), unless refurbished, require original parts and predate the introduction of our advanced upgrade package. If you have purchased a refurbished device within the serial number range, we will continue to offer service for 5 years from the date of purchase, or until October 1, 2024, whichever is longer.

Please note that our subsidiaries and distributors will continue to offer Best Effort Support in the field beyond October 1, 2024, for as long as spare parts and/or tools are available, and the repair can be performed onsite. But repair cannot be guaranteed.
